Giraffes Galore!
Our interest in visiting the Giraffe Museum started a couple of months ago when we were at the bank and the lady who was helping us told us that there was such a place right here in Chandler after Tim expressed his love of giraffes (see here). We decided that this would be an amusing trip for when my mother got here, and so we waited until now to go and see it. It was definitely worth the visit. I have never seen so much giraffe paraphernalia before, and we were all impressed with the amount of giraffe stuff that the owner, Irida, has managed to amass. In addition, she and her husband make giraffe items under the name Giraffic Crafts. We enjoyed talking to her for quite a while after we were finished walking around and watching a documentary on giraffes. She had lived in Germany earlier and so she and my mother spoke German for a while (and I was very pleased that I understood everything!) Tim and I have plans to go back as she’s planning to get various interesting giraffe-related items and it will be neat to see how her collection grows. Plus, Irida is a great lady and it will be nice to see her again!
